Skydiving Courses
Frequently Asked Questions
Ask Us Anything!
At Skydive NEPA, we’re all about responsible progression. Everything we do is grounded in education, mentorship, and opportunity. We want you to ask questions – and if we don’t have your answer, we’ll help you find someone who does.
Is there a minimum age requirement to take Skydive NEPA courses?
For all courses that include skydiving or BASE jumping, you must be at least 18 years old to enroll. There is no age requirement for the packing class.
Is there a maximum age threshold for taking courses?
Nope! If you are in generally good health, your doctor says it’s OK, and you meet course prerequisites, you likely can enroll in our courses. Give us a call and we’ll talk it through!
Is there a weight limit for courses?
Skydive NEPA provides students working toward their A License with all required gear. Students can be a maximum of 240 lbs and must be height/weight proportionate.
Other courses require that you jump with your own gear. You must comply with the weight limits prescribed by the gear manufacturer.
The packing class does not include a weight limit.
How much do courses cost?
Tuition varies; please see our Pricing page for details.

- Gift certificates do not expire, but the face value applies. For example, if the gift certificate is for $250 and the cost of the service is $275, you are responsible for the $25 difference.

- Gift certificates are reloadable.
- Minimum purchase $50.
What are DZ dollars?
We value hard work and dedication – and having a really good time while we’re at it. Every time you land in our Circle of Accuracy, you earn a DZ dollar. Redeem it for a real US dollar or cash it in for snacks and drinks.
How long does it take to complete courses?
The duration of a course depends on the curriculum we need to cover and, of course, the weather. With blue skies:
- Packing Class: 1 day
- PRO Rating Course: 3 days
- CRW Course: 3 days
How big is the landing area?
In a word: oversized! We have different landing areas for students and experienced skydivers. The airfield is over 70 acres and we’re surrounded by open fields – you’ll have plenty of alternate landing areas if needed, and we’ll come pick you up in the cart!
Do I have to buy my own gear?
Everything you need to achieve your A License and packing class is included in the course tuition.
Attendees are responsible for providing basic gear for the PRO Rating and CRW courses; specialty equipment is provided. Contact us for details.
What do I get following successful completion of a course?
- Packing Class: Pack others’ parachutes with supervision; pack own parachute
- PRO Rating Course: Complete USPA PRO Rating Proficiency Card
- CRW Course: Ability to perform 2-stack, 4-stack, and potentially 8-stack
What can I do with the USPA A License?
Having your USPA A License opens up a whole new world! You can jump with your pals, participate in basic group jumps, and pack your own parachute.
Are there other USPA License levels after the A?
There are three additional levels of USPA licensure after the A – B, C and D – and with each you gain a number of endorsements. From night jumps and HALO jumps, and permission to skydive with wearables (hello, GoPro!), to seeking ratings and performing different disciplines, there is no end to what you can explore and aspire toward!
Can I work toward other License levels at Skydive NEPA?
Absolutely! We have an awesome team of coaches and load organizers who are stoked to serve as guides and mentors on your personal skydiving journey. And if you want to do something we can’t help you with, we’ll help you find and vet the person or facility who can! We are committed to advancing the sport.
